Club Meetings
Our club meets weekly on Monday mornings at 7:00 am. Typically, members show up 15 minutes early to socialize prior to the meeting. Our meeting starts with a morning breakfast, which leads into club announcements, and concludes with a 20 minutes presentation provided by a guest speaker. We adjourn promptly at 8:00 am.
During the club announcements, there is time for each member to contribute a $1.00 into the "Happy Jar" to share highlights in their life, community events, and/or other items. Our club also sponsors a "Weekly Raffle", where members purchase $1.00 raffle tickets to win the opportunity to draw the "lucky" card from a deck of cards. The maximum payout is $520.00, and each week the pot is increased $10.00 by the club Rotarian who hosts the weekly program. Funds from both the "Happy Jar" and the "Weekly Raffle" are used to support the Robert F. McLain and the Boyce Brown scholarships.
Social Events
Installation and Awards Banquet
This
annual event celebrates the past Rotary Year's accomplishments and
looks to future successes with the installation of the Club's new
officers and directors. The reception and dinner includes Rotarians,
their spouses and children, Scholarship Awardees, and District guests.
Family Picnics
The
focus at these spring and fall social events is on the family. In past
years, these have included pig pickings, picnics, and shrimparoos.
